7 Best Prophetic Supplications for Difficulty and Stress
In Islam dua is an essence of worship. Muslims should never feel ashamed for asking dua in front of Allah Almighty. In this article we will learn some ‘Duas’ or Prophetic supplications that Muhammad PBUH recited to seek help from Allah Almighty and to be thankful to Him.
In the times of difficulty and stress, we get closer to Allah Almighty. We remember Him with authentic Adhkar. We try to approach Allah Almighty with all the best possible ways. There are also some superlative Prophetic supplications to recite during stress, tension, anxiety or hopelessness.
It is also a fact that a person is supplicating or making a heartily Dua to Allah SWT, doesn’t mean that he is in a difficult situation in life. Being Muslim when we are pleasant, satisfy or happy, we make more Duas to be thankful to Allah SWT.
There are some authentic Prophetic supplications to recite in the morning and evening because Allah SWT says in Quran,
وَسَبِّحْ بِحَمْدِ رَبِّكَ قَبْلَ طُلُوعِ ٱلشَّمْسِ وَقَبْلَ غُرُوبِهَا ۖ ٰ ١٣٠
Translation
“And exalt (Allah) with praise of your Lord before the rising of the sun and before its setting”
Al-Quran 20: 130
As per Quran instruction, Prophet Muhammad SAWW used to recite some specific duas in morning and evening.
Prophetic Dua in Morning
الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ الَّذِي أَقَالَنَا يَوْمَنَا هَذَا وَلَمْ يُهْلِكْنَا بِذُنُوبِنَا (مُسْلِمْ)
“All praise be to Allah who has forgiven us today and not destroyed us due to our sin”.
(Muslim)
Prophetic Dua to Recite in Evening
لَّهُمَّ إِنَّ هَذَا إِقْبَالُ لَيْلِكَ وَإِدْبَارُ نَهَارِكَ وَأَصْوَاتُ دُعَاتِكَ فَاغْفِرْ لِي
“O Allah, this is the time of the coming of the night and the passing of the day and the voices of those calling You to forgive us”
(Miskhaat)
Prophetic Supplication for Protection from Any Kind of Harm
بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الَّذِي لَا يَضُرُّ مَعَ اسْمِهِ شَيْءٌ فِي الْأَرْضِ وَلَا فِي السَّمَاءِ وَهُوَ السَّمِيعُ الْعَلِيمُ
“In the Name of Allah with Whose Name there is protection against every kind of harm in the earth or in heaven, and He is All-Hearing and All-Knowing”
(Sunan Abu Daud)
Dua for Forgiveness from Allah Almighty
اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ الْعَفْوَ وَالْعَافِيَةَ فِي الدُّنْيَا وَالآخِرَةِ
“O Allah, I seek Your forgiveness and my well-being in this world and the Hereafter”
(Sunan Ibn Majah)
Dua of Prophet Muhammad PBUH for Protection from Evil Eyes
أَعُوذُ بِكلِمَاتِ الله التّامّاتِ مِن شَرّ مَا خَلَقَ
“I seek protection in the perfect words of Allah from every evil that has been created”
(Sahih Muslim)
Dua for Protection from Diseases
اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنَ الْبَرَصِ، وَالْجُنُونِ، وَالْجُذَامِ، وَمِنْ سَيِّئِ الأَسْقَامِ
“O Allah, I seek refuge in You from leprosy, madness, elephantiasis, and evil diseases”
(Sunan Abi Daud)
Prophetic Supplication for Prosperity and Well Being
اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ الْعَافِيَةَ فِي الدُّنْيَا وَالآخِرَةِ اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ الْعَفْوَ وَالْعَافِيَةَ فِي دِينِي وَدُنْيَاىَ وَأَهْلِي وَمَالِي اللَّهُمَّ اسْتُرْ عَوْرَاتِي وَآمِنْ رَوْعَاتِي اللَّهُمَّ احْفَظْنِي مِنْ بَيْنِ يَدَىَّ وَمِنْ خَلْفِي وَعَنْ يَمِينِي وَعَنْ شِمَالِي وَمِنْ فَوْقِي وَأَعُوذُ بِعَظَمَتِكَ أَنْ أُغْتَالَ مِنْ تَحْتِي.
“O Allah, I ask You for well-being in this world and the Hereafter. O Allah, I ask You for pardon and well-being in my religion, my worldly affairs, my family and my property. O Allah, conceal my faults and keep me safe from what I fear. O Allah, guard me from in front of me and behind me, on my right and on my left, and from above me. And I seek refuge in Your Magnificence from being swallowed up from beneath me”.

We should learn these authentic duas to be protected and safe from any kind of harm, evil or disease. We should also teach these Prophetic supplications to our kids as we teach them salah, Quran recitation and other Islamic teachings.
